New York City – Present Day

While she lived in Paris, artist Bristol Lockett met and had a three-day fling with Navy SEAL Laramie “Coop” Cooper, but soon after learning she was pregnant with his child, she received the news that he was killed during a military assignment. Bristol returned to New York City and had her son, whom she named after his father, while concocting a story to friends that she is a widow. She has done well with her paintings, and is at an elite sale of her works when Coop walks in. She ends up fainting in shock.

Coop had been missing in action, but he was rescued after several months. He never forgot Bristol and tried to find her in Paris, but was told she'd moved with no forwarding address. It turns out she never told him her last name, so he has nothing else to go on. Coop feels like he's going through life aimlessly, with no purpose in life, until he sees the sign advertising an art sale of “Bristol” Lockett's paintings and he decides to investigate. How many artists are named Bristol? To his surprise, it is her…and then he learns they have a two-year-old son. There's a lot to catch up on, but is there a chance it can lead to a happily-ever-after?

Their weekend fling was beautiful and sexy, but their lives were soon changed forever for Bristol and Coop in HIS SECRET SON. Bristol is the daughter of a famous artist who died and bequeathed money for her tuition at a famed art institute in Paris. While she didn't need to work, she took a job as a waitress in a café, which is where she met Coop. They clicked immediately, and before the night was over, they were making love and spending three days locked in each other's arms. Coop promised to return to Bristol after he completed his current assignment, but that didn't happen when he was captured by the enemy and then presumed dead. Meanwhile, Bristol learned she was pregnant, and the news he is dead leaves her shattered. But she has a child to raise, and she honored Coop by naming their son after him.

While Coop is glad to finally have reconnected with Bristol, and happy about having a son, he can sense her reluctance to just resume things where they left off. Her life has changed, and Coop can't just barge in and take over. However, Coop is enjoying getting to know his son, but the sparks between him and Bristol still fly. The sexual chemistry is there, and they get along, but can he convince her that he wants to be a part of her life again?

After being told once before that Coop was dead, Bristol is struggling with the risks of abandonment in HIS SECRET SON. Can she dare trust that something won't happen to Coop? She's already lost her father, mother and beloved aunt, and she can't face the prospect of losing the man she loves…again. While HIS SECRET SON is part of another Westmoreland series by Brenda Jackson, it can be read easily as a standalone. Intense sexual feelings simmer between Coop and Bristol in HIS SECRET SON, and this tale will entertain you right from the first page.
