Seattle, Washington - Present Day

The D'Artigo sisters (Camille, Menolly and Delilah), half-human, half-Fae agents for the OIA (Otherworld Intelligence Agency), have been fighting the good fight for the past year, and in that time they've defeated some really big bads, among them Karvanak (the now deceased general of Shadow Wing's Earthside forces) and Dredge, Menolly's psychotic vampire sire. That being said, the D'Artigos and their allies can never rest, for not only is Stacia Bonecrusher (Shadow Wing's new general) still lurking in the Seattle area, she's put a bounty on their heads. Oh yeah, and as if that's not enough, werewolves are disappearing, and a powerful magical drug, Wolf Briar, is on the streets causing havoc. And then there are those problems centered on Delilah, the focus of this book. Delilah is, as we all know, a two faced werecat (tabby and black panther) and the only living member of the Death Maidens, and it seems the time has come for her training to begin. Delilah would love to concentrate on those responsibilities alone, but they have to be combined with all the rest, as well as her worry for her lovers, Chase (made newly immortal to save his life and having some difficulty adjusting) and Zach (the werepuma still recovering from their last battle in the fight to save both Otherworld and Earth).

Delilah has always been the sister most likely to be called hesitant, even timid at times, but this tabby cat is being forced by circumstance to grow up, and do it fast. That's okay, though, because she's ready for change, big change, and I'm confident she's going to come out the other side a better, stronger person. Watch out world, because it looks as if this onetime “mouse” is about to claim her fangs and roar!

As always in the Sisters of the Moon series, there are numerous secondary characters, too many to mention here, but rest assured, they're all memorable, and Yasmine Galenorn never fails to make it clear who's who and why they're important. Camille (witch and priestess of the Moon Mother) and her husbands Morio (fox demon) and Smoky (shape shifting dragon) have just celebrated their unity with Trillian (a Svartan and Camille's alpha lover), her third husband. Menolly (vampire) seems to be settling in to her relationship with Nerissa (werepuma) and is set to be the focus of the next book, BLOOD WYNE (arriving in February 2011). Iris (Finnish house sprite and more) is spending a lot of time with her new love, Bruce, and it seems the secrets she's been keeping from most of the D'Artigos will soon come to light. And of course, all of the other regulars are present as well, but I'll let you catch up with them on your own. Oh, never let it be that said that this is a static cast, new faces do pop up and some of them promise to become integral to the series.

It's not too many authors who can write a series as long-lived as this one and make every book come out just as interesting and intriguing as the last, but Yasmine Galenorn is certainly one of them. Maybe it's the fact that in every book the focus changes from one sister to the next, so the voice changes and keeps your interest. Maybe it's the well-written storylines that continue to build from one story to the next, or maybe it's just a bit of magic that belongs solely to the author that she shares with us, the grateful readers. Whatever the case, her books are always enchanting, full of life and emotion as well as twists and turns that keep you reading long into the night. If you haven't been reading them, stop by www.galenorn.com for a list and the correct reading order; I promise they're all more than worth your time and book buying dollars. If you have been following the D'Artigos adventures, then you already know that HARVEST HUNTING is a must buy. Don't miss it!
