Cannon Beach, Oregon – Present Day Retired police officer Hendrix Becker hates Christmas, and in December, he shuts down the RV park he owns. Everyone seems to know this, but one resident, single mom Josephine “Joey” Collins, and her son have not moved out. Hendrix goes to her cabin to find out why and learns that she has no place to go. He begins to see that she will be unable to afford Christmas, so he decides to let them stay. Or is it because he is beginning to feel attracted to her? Joey is deathly afraid of her ex-husband, as he was abusive. She has no nearby family, and she is barely scraping by financially. She is trying to have Christmas for her son without letting him know what is going on. Hendrix turns out to be nice, and he is protective of Joey and her son. She finds herself attracted to him, but with her ex lurking out there, she doesn’t feel it’s safe to let down her guard. Will the feared danger arrive soon? THE ACCIDENTAL CHRISTMAS is a short story that gets right into the action as Hendrix contemplates why Joey is ignoring his request to leave for December. Why doesn’t he like Christmas? I’d suggest reading this tale to find out the reason, and watch as Joey soon makes him realize how special the holiday is. Joey is jumpy at times because her ex is not someone she wants to battle with. He lurks enough to stay away from her and keep the local cops from issuing a restraining order. But Hendrix will protect her if the guy shows up. Their romance starts chastely in THE ACCIDENTAL CHRISTMAS, but readers will feel the burning attraction between Hendrix and Joey. Will they come together as an almost family and happily celebrate Christmas? Find out the answer by reading this sizzling and Christmassy tale. Patti Fischer |
