Lady Eliza Brentford had to suffer through one disastrous marriage because of her manipulative family, and now that her younger brother is deep in debt, he's planning on marrying her off again. But Eliza has a secret; she has been selling her paintings and storing the money away. All she wants is her own little house in the Lake District, though she will definitely miss her childhood home. If she gets just one more well paying assignment, her goal will finally be in reach.

One of the infamous "Hellhounds," Gryffin Dwight, Marquess of Haddan has quite the womanizing rap sheet. But Haddan has noticed the urge to settle down has gotten stronger the past year or so—the idea of a solid home and loving woman holds much more of an appeal than before. When Haddan meets Lady Brentford, he's instantly charmed by her wit, beauty, and knowledge of flowers and landscaping—one of Haddan's passions. And the more time they spend together, the harder this Hellhound will fall.

Haddan and Eliza's charming wit and banter will absolutely capture the reader from their first meeting. A funny, unbelievably kind and incredibly handsome man, Haddan is the type of historical hero that women fantasize about—Lady Eliza included. A widow, Lady Eliza is at the mercy of her irresponsible younger brother, and it's up to her to keep their estate afloat despite his gambling debts. But Eliza is a strong woman, and readers can't help but root for her to rise above the obstacles her brother throws in her path.
