With the Rising Star Chef competition going on, Danny Lunden doesn't have time to get all worked up over a female. But the yummy pastry chef can't help feeling the heat with Eva Jansen, the heiress in charge of the competition, whom he met in route to Chicago . Eva is tired of everyone, especially Danny, treating her as simply ‘Eva the Diva'. So when she meets him again, alone in an elevator, she decides to take a kiss and see where it leads. The two end up sharing a kiss hotter than any Eva has experienced before—and she hungers for more. Even as the two try to stay away, circumstances bring them closer.

In SOME LIKE IT HOT by Louisa Edwards, the emotion is real and raw throughout every sexy moment of the book, and through every poignant one. Ms. Edwards superbly captures the passion, the disappointment, the euphoria of love, and she never lets up. Every page is filled to bursting with the hardest aspect of love to write well. This, in turn, magnified every scene in the book making them brighter and hotter.

Beyond the emotion, SOME LIKE IT HOT had two fantastic, deep, well-developed protagonists. One of my favorite aspects of a romance novel is watching the hero and heroine become better people because they're with one another. Eva and Danny, despite some initial problems, bring out the best in each another, which is fantastic. I loved watching them grow as individuals as they grew closer as a couple. The background plot of the competition is interesting and keeps the story going at a nice pace, but the romantic plot was so overwhelmingly amazing that at times I wanted to skip straight over the competition bits and get back to Danny and Eva.

Overall, for emotion, plot, romance, character development, and writing abilities (really well done), I'd give SOME LIKE IT HOT by Louisa Edwards a Perfect 10, and I'd encourage you to run out to the bookstore today to buy it. It's sure to stir up some heat in your soul.
