Beaumont, Missouri – Present Day It’s Halloween night, and wildlife biologist Hermione “Ione” Scott has just returned from a ghost tour where she subbed for her sister as the tour guide. She decides to hang out at her best friend’s bar when she encounters a handsome man who is charming and talkative. They exchange their first names, and she learns his name is Michael. He says he recently came from Oregon. As they chat, they become interested in each other. They finally agreed to a one-night stand, figuring they won’t see each other again, mainly because she is headed out for a job in West Virginia, and he should be returning home. It’s the best sex Ione ever had, which is a good feeling after her ex dumped her months ago. But six months later, Ione is back in Beaumont with a job for Clayton Industries, and she now realizes the man she bedded was one of the Clayton brothers. How awkward! After realizing who the other person is in THE PLAYBOY PROJECT, Ione and Michael agree to keep their fling a secret, though they are interested in a no-strings-attached continuation. They will be working on a project for Clayton Industries that requires delicate environmental protection. However, Ione soon learns that her ex, Henry, is involved and will be responsible for the approval of the project. It also appears that Henry wants her back. Well, she’s not interested, and it has nothing to do with the fact that Michael is more attractive. Ione will need to be careful not to jeopardize the project because she needs the money for her mother’s cancer treatment. But how can she resist Michael? She is slowly and surely falling in love with him. Michael never forgot the woman he met six months ago. Quite a change for a man who has a reputation for being a playboy. Of course, he is shocked to find out that she is now working with their company. He wants her back in his bed, and he can’t figure out why he is obsessed with her. Could it be that he’s falling in love? Meanwhile, they continue to work closely on the project as it’s important for their father. If something goes wrong…then it’s a potential money loss that may harm the company for years. So, no scandal. No public dating between Michael and Ione. Of course, things don’t work out the way they want them to… Ione and Michael are an interesting and engaging couple, and readers will be rooting in THE PLAYBOY PROJECT for them to make a future together.
