Sunset County, Ontario – Present Day Maya Monroe is a popular romance author whose latest book is going to become a made-for-TV movie. She gets a call from her agent informing her that the movie company will be filming it in her hometown of Sunset County. This is a thrill for Maya as she will get to watch her story come alive. However, her elation is deflated when she learns that her old high school boyfriend, Will Hastings, will be directing. Will dropped Maya and left town when both were eighteen. He has gone on to become a heralded director. One look at Will, and Maya’s old feelings for him are bubbling to the surface. Will has another reason to return to Sunset County. His elderly father needs to be moved to an assisted living facility, and his home needs to be listed for sale. His relationship with his father hasn’t been the best through the years, but he hopes he can persuade his dad that it’s for the best. Meanwhile, Will is looking forward to seeing Maya again. He never forgot her, though she is still angry with him for dumping her. But things worked out for the best, right? She owns a bakery and has a successful writing career. He is a world-renowned director. But there’s no denying that there are unresolved feelings between them. Maya and Will are reunited in AUTUMN NIGHTS, HOLIDAY LIGHTS, and it’s a bumpy ride. She has moved on with her life and built one that is fulfilling her dreams: owning a bakery and writing romance. While she is thrilled at the idea of her book being made into a movie, she isn’t happy that Will is the director. He directs big projects, not sappy Christmas romance movies. Their reunion is rocky at first. She accuses him of being a big Hollywood star who turned his back on his father and his hometown. Well, Will is planning to place his father in an assisted living facility, and their relationship is not great, but he is trying to do what is best for his father. Of course, interpreting a movie from a book isn’t easy, especially with the author hovering around. Maya knows her story, while Will sees it as just another script that he has to interpret for viewers while keeping it under budget. They clash, yet there are sparks of desire floating between them. The more they are around each other, the more they fall in love again. But he is in town for only a few weeks, and his life is all over the world wherever a movie is being filmed. Maya’s life is in Sunset County. Do they dare to give in to the attraction that is building between them? What happens when the filming is over?
