Harlot’s Bay, Maryland – Present Day Molly is back in Harlot’s Bay to attend the funeral of a former friend, Karl, whom she tutored and befriended while in high school. She arrives at his bakery to offer condolences and is surprised to see that everyone there is upbeat and not in mourning. She mentions Karl’s unexpected death to Bez, one of the workers, and she starts laughing. Then Karl walks out from the back. The rumors of Karl’s death were incorrect. A local busybody who reports news in town had incorrectly reported his death after he had a bout of the flu. Karl has a bad case of unrequited love for Molly. They were good friends in high school, although it was more a case of them rubbing each other the wrong way. After he got a girlfriend and seemingly rebuffed Molly, she broke off their friendship and then left town. Molly only planned to be in town for the “funeral,” but their old schoolfriends are encouraging her to stay long enough for their class reunion in a few weeks. She has nothing to get back to as her home is currently undergoing renovation, plus Karl challenges her to stay and get to know him better. Will it be enough that she will soon be in his bed? He hopes so! Molly and Karl get another chance at love in the funny and sizzling hot SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE. After their friendship misfired in high school, Molly mysteriously left town. Karl soon learns why, and that it had nothing to do with him. All he wanted in high school was for her to look his way. What he doesn’t realize is that she noticed him a lot. Well, it can be tough when you’re hormone-laden teenagers. She went on to college and married a jerk whom she supported to get his college degree, only to have him dump her for someone younger. With her home in Los Angeles currently under renovation, Molly has no reason to leave Harlot’s Bay. Besides, her job is narrating sexy audiobooks. What the people of the town don’t realize is that the author of those books resides among them. In fact, she is Molly’s best friend. Karl, meanwhile, stayed in Harlot’s Bay and opened a bakery that does well. He is grumpy, but his employees and friends still love him (and love to tease him). After he was mistakenly declared dead by the nosy local news reporter, he has lived with people coming into the bakery and being surprised that he’s alive. But to his pleasant surprise, Molly comes to town. Does this mean that she really cared about him all those years ago? He wants to learn more about the care she is showing now. He will tempt her. He will seduce her. He wants Molly. Will he win her heart? Molly and Karl are a cute couple together. Because of their past, they are unsure of each other’s feelings. Molly agrees to stay for the reunion, but that story is mostly in the background. Karl has Molly spend time with him in the kitchen and out of it. They meld well together, and readers will soon be rooting for them to make it work out. But once the month is up, what happens? Will Molly stay or return to Los Angeles?
