South Carolina & Maryland – Present Day Ivy Daniels feels she is at a crossroads in her life. She’s nearly forty and has spent the last twelve years holding the fort down at the Bishop Honey Bee Farm while she worked at the farm and raised her two orphaned nieces. Brooke and Harper are now adults and, up until recently, were estranged from one another. To make their reunion possible, Ivy took an extended vacation while she hoped to bring her nieces together and reconcile. While in South Carolina, Ivy meets a younger man, bartender Jaxon Coffield, and they hit it off so well that they have a one-night stand. Ivy returns to Maryland, figuring she will never see Jaxon again. But shortly after she returns home, she runs into him. Jaxon and a friend of his are helping at a local wine bar. The job is temporary, so he will be returning to South Carolina in a few weeks. What a perfect opportunity to continue to explore their attraction. Unfortunately, Ivy runs into a conflict with their relationship when it turns out that Brooke knew Jaxon from before, and she isn’t happy to see her aunt involved with him. Ivy gave up her life for years to raise Harper and Brooke after their parents tragically died in an accident. She wouldn’t change being with her nieces, but it meant giving up her dreams—and her fiancé, who didn’t want to be saddled with two minor children. But with the nieces estranged from each other, Ivy felt she had to do something to bring them back together, and that it was time for them to take over their family’s honeybee farm. Ivy took off and left them in charge. It has worked, plus Brooke has now found love (see Brooke’s story in A HONEY FOR THE BEEKEEPER). Now Ivy must figure out what to do with her future. She wouldn’t mind painting, something she loved when she was younger, but is she too old to start a career as an artist? First stop on her vacation was Miami, Florida, where she runs into her old fiancé, and he wants to rekindle their relationship. But Ivy balks. Then on to South Carolina, where she meets Jaxon. The rest is history… Jaxon isn’t all that he seems. A bartender with a bit of a vagabond lifestyle shouldn’t appeal to a nearly forty-year-old woman. But there’s more to Jaxon than Ivy realizes. In this tale, we will eventually learn the truth. He has fallen hard for Ivy, but is there a future for them? In SWEET ON A YOUNGER MAN, Ivy must figure out what is important to her: love or stability. What about Brooke? Does Ivy go against her niece’s wishes? Yes, Jaxon has a history of going from one woman to the next, but he is really into Ivy. Can this mean a possible future for them? A compelling and intriguing tale right from the start, don’t miss SWEET ON A YOUNGER MAN. Will we see a happily-ever-after for Ivy and Jaxon? You’ll have to read this to find out. Patti Fischer |
