1979: In Southern Iran, a man called Bashir finds the grave of the first man, Adam, who was cast out of the Garden of Eden. Bashir finds a stone tablet and a copper scroll which he believes will lead him to the garden's location, but in his haste to run away from thieves, the scroll is lost.
Now, several years later, a United Nations dignitary opens a letter in New York and contracts a deadly virus. While, In Paris, a scientist drops Bashir's stone tablet from the Eiffel tower. Broken beyond recognition, the destruction of the tablet precludes the annihilation about to begin...
The National Research Institute, or NRI, sends operative Danielle Laidlaw to team up with a man known only as Hawker. Threats from terrorists happen often, but this one is different. These unknown people want to destroy mankind itself. The NRI needs Hawker, who was a friend of the dead scientist, Ranga Milan, to intercept, and if he can, stop the people responsible.
Hawker is a mercenary whose past is so obscured that he can barely recognize himself, let alone remember what his real name is. His friend Ranga is dead. The urgent message Ranga sent Hawker for help didn't reach him in time. Now, in Paris , Hawker and Danielle are arrested for blowing up Ranga's apartment. Hawker wants revenge. His friend adored life; he would never create a virus to destroy it. Once Hawker and Danielle can get out of this mess with the French police, they'll find an old nemesis, Keegan, and search for answers.
What ensues is a wild ride to the Middle East , where a search for the lost Garden of Eden and the key to the deadly virus keeps Danielle and Hawker just one step ahead of death. Many have searched for the Lord's garden, but none have found it. Until Danielle gets her hands on an ancient copper scroll. Her research tells her this discovery might lead them to the very place where all of life began. The key to the mystery seems to be within the DNA coding that Ranga was working on right before he died. Now, his daughter Sonia is the only person who might have answers, and the terrorists are after her. In a race against time, Danielle, Hawker, and Keegan must find Sonia before it is too late.
