Long Island, New York – Present Day Ellie Lawson thought her life was going perfectly until it suddenly cratered one day. First, her boyfriend broke up with her, then the next day she learned that he’d stolen her ideas for an event project for a big client and presented them as his own. Ellie was accused of being the one who stole the ideas, and she was fired on the spot. She has no place to go, so she calls up her mother and asks if she can come home. Her mother is excited because now Ellie can help plan the upcoming Harvest Festival that their inn puts on. Ellie takes the train and arrives at the inn late and learns that her usual attic apartment is occupied by Aiden, who’s wrapped in a towel around his lower half. But boy, that upper half is mighty fine. Ellie and Aiden grew up together, and their parents are joint owners of the inn and orchard. But he is much (much!) different from the nerdy guy she remembers. He is now a hot hunk, and Ellie can’t stop thinking about his bare chest. He is staying there temporarily while he gets work done in his place. Aiden reminds Ellie that there are two bedrooms in the apartment, so maybe they can share? She agrees, and soon she is acutely aware of how attractive he is. Ellie also learns that Aiden is in charge of the Harvest Festival planning, so now they will have to work together. Of course, they clash because both have their own ideas. Will the closeness and clashes bring about war…or love? Ellie is at a crossroads in THE HONEYCRISP ORCHARD INN as she loses her job and is forced to return home. Once she started dating her coworker, Geoff, she rarely came home because of him. Which means that she doesn’t really know all that is going on with the inn and orchard. Ellie soon suspects that the businesses are in financial trouble. Holding a successful Harvest Festival is imperative. Luckily, planning big events was Ellie’s line of work in New York City. She dives right in, but Aiden has other ideas that have them arguing about what is appropriate or not. They also get along just fine at times, like sharing donuts and coffee in the morning. Aiden is only a year older than Ellie, but she didn’t look at him much growing up. Now he is one sexy man! In THE HONEYCRISP ORCHARD INN, we meet several supporting characters, such as Ellie and Aiden’s parents and his sister, Charlotte, who I suspect will be getting her own story soon. They and other supporting characters in this tale provide a good mix of color and humor. Ellie hasn’t told anyone that she was fired from her job because she’s still licking her wounds. It doesn’t help that her former employer has put out bad things about her, making it hard to find another job. It appears Geoff has done a real number on destroying Ellie. She feels defeated, but will working with Aiden and getting to know him again help her get her mojo back? Will living in the same apartment end up with them eventually sharing a bed? Finally, will Ellie stay, or return to New York City? A cute and entertaining tale that will tickle your fancy and most likely have you craving apples, THE HONEYCRISP ORCHARD INN is a romance at the core (no pun intended) as Ellie and Aiden discover that they like each other…a lot.
