Lord Samuel Travis has just been kicked to the curb, literally.  His brother, the Marques of Currington, Nigel Travis, has thrown him out of the family townhouse!  Just returned from six months abroad, Sam has no place to go, and no money to pay his way.  Even so, brother Nigel has hired two burly dock workers to bodily and physically remove Sam, still dressed in the clothes he wore the night before.  Banished to a run-down house on Hart Street, Sam is told he can live there, if he ousts the current tenants and renovates the house.

When Juliette Lacey answers the front door she thinks she is seeing the scoundrel who stole a kiss from her recently, the Marques of Currington.  But upon a second look, she realizes that the bedraggled man lounging against her doorstep simply looks like Nigel Travis.  This man, with his rumpled clothing and missing his cravat, walks right in and announces that she and her entire household must vacate the premises at once!  Even is his post-drunken state, Sam recognizes that she is one of infamous Lacey sisters, three young women the gossips dubbed wallflowers, (and quickly amended their opinions when two of the sisters, Meg and Beth married well).  It is also said the girls are wards of their befuddled, half-crazy uncle, who is enamored with his studies of flora and fauna.  Sam is perplexed.  Why would Nigel want to evict Lord Wiltmore and his remaining, still unmarried niece?

THE ROGUE IS BACK IN TOWN is a delightful story!  Samuel, as second son, is beholden to his brother Nigel, and when Nigel kicks him out he is left without funds and no place to go, except to the home where Juliette Lacey and her Uncle Allister live.  Branded a rogue and rapscallion solely from his own actions in the past few years, Sam is without any means whatsoever. Juliette, meanwhile, is hesitant to upset her eccentric uncle, who insists that he has the deed to the property among her dead Aunt Elspeth's belongings.  All they have to do is locate it.  So Juliette and Sam strike a rough bargain, he will stay in the Hart Street house until they can solve the mystery of legal ownership.  Meanwhile, Sam begins to look into his brother's business and discovers that Nigel might have secrets he wishes to keep hidden.

THE ROGUE IS BACK IN TOWN is the third book in the  Wayward Wallflowers  Series, and follows I DARED THE DUKE, October 2016; and MY BROWN EYED EARL, April 2017. These books stand alone, but you don't want to miss out on the fun of reading them all!

For a delightfully romantic and humorous romance, THE ROGUE IS BACK IN TOWN is a winner!
