Stone Creek Ranch, Utah – Present Day Single and seven months pregnant, Lilly Wainwright is spending a week at the Stone Creek Ranch, getting to know long-lost relatives, and attending a family wedding. At the wedding reception, ranch hand Jett Rhodes asks Lilly to dance. She is surprised at the offer because of her pregnancy. But they enjoy dancing together, and he invites her over to his place anytime she’s interested, which happens to not be far from where they’re staying. Jett and Lilly begin to learn more about each other, and an attraction develops. However, their romance may be fleeting since Lilly will soon be returning home, and she doesn’t want to get involved with a man who isn’t looking for a readymade family. Lilly and Jett have a lot more in common than they first think after they meet in THE COWBOY’S BABY PROMISE. Both lost a parent when they were young, and it has shaped them today. Lilly lives with her mother and sister in Buffalo, Wyoming, where she is a nurse. She met a guy, fell in love, got pregnant, then watched him walk away once he found out. Jett ended up being raised by his grandfather, who taught him the ways of ranching. He has worked at Stone Creek Ranch for several years, and he won’t be leaving anytime soon. While Lilly hesitates and wonders if she can stay on and see where her relationship with Jett goes, she is also acutely aware of her failed relationship with her ex. She doesn’t want to repeat the same mistake. Then Jett talks about how he never plans to get married and have children. Getting involved with Lilly will come into conflict with his beliefs. THE COWBOY’S BABY PROMISE is an emotional tale that puts two wounded souls together. They can’t trust their hearts until they put trust into themselves and each other. They dance back and forth about their feelings. In this tale, we meet many different characters, mostly Lilly’s relatives. I won’t go into all who, but if you’ve read the Men of the West series in the past, then some will be familiar to you. But this one can easily be read as a standalone. There is also little conflict, other than what our hero and heroine decide as they mull a future together. A sweet yet sexy tale that features two likeable characters in Lilly and Jett, whom you will fall in love with. You’ll soon be rooting for them to make it all work out. Don’t miss THE COWBOY’S BABY PROMISE. Patti Fischer |
