Paranormal Romance
Castle Bay, California - the Present
Maggie Donovan’s ex-boyfriend is eaten by
an ugly creature not of this world. When Maggie sees the carnage,
she grabs the pendant around the creature’s neck, beating
it until the pendant breaks causing gold dust to swirl around
the room, destroying the creature. As the dust settles over Maggie,
she feels strength coursing through her body. She returns home
to find a strange man in her kitchen. Culhane introduces himself
as a Fenian warrior for the Fae. He informs her that she has come
into her power, and can help defeat Queen Mab to free all of the
men of the Otherworld and become their queen.
Maggie is caring for her twelve year old niece, Eileen,
who thinks Culhane is “cool”, but Maggie thinks he
must be crazy even though she is breaking things at a touch and
tends to float! It is imperative for Culhane to convince her of
her destiny to save his world. It is the pixie Bezel’s job
to train Maggie, but Bezel sees little hope that the human can
defeat Mab. With demons trying to steal her power and her life,
Maggie knows she must train to beat them. Culhane and Maggie are
very attracted to each other, but Culhane tries to keep his mind
on what he must do to save his people. Will Maggie be able to
defeat Mab, and will she nab a sexy faery in the process?
BEDEVILED is a very humorous and imaginative out-of-this-world
story of faeries, demons, and other strange creatures. The dialogue
is laugh-out-loud funny, and Eileen is an especially enjoyable
pre-teen. Secondary characters will be suspected of being demons
trying to steal Maggie’s Fae strength which creates some
tension in this enjoyable tale. The feisty Maggie is not so sure
she wants to be a faery queen. Culhane is the silent, masterful
type who finds Maggie undeniably appealing -- even if she is a
human!
An entertaining story, BEDEVILED is sure to appeal
to romance readers who enjoy a good laugh along with handsome,
sexy faeries and the unusual characters that populate this tale.
