Seattle, Washington – Present Day
Jenny Logan owes a great deal of money to Leo, a
pimp, who loaned her ten thousand dollars to help a friend. Leo
wants his payment either in dollar bills or the use of Jenny's
body. He knows she can't pay him back and expects her to start
working for him. He gives her one more day, and no matter what
happens, he will come and collect. Jenny could run away, but she
knows Leo will find her. She thinks all is lost until a well-dressed
man, old enough to be her grandfather, comes to her with a proposition.
Sam Leland notices Jenny after she is kind to a poor
homeless man. His grandson, Daniel, is twenty-eight years old
and quite the hermit. He is a recluse because of his scarred face
due to a horrible car accident when he was fourteen. His father
and brother died, while he survived, and he now lives all alone
on an island making exclusive toys. Daniel needs an assistant
to help him for the holidays. Sam is concerned because Daniel
has never been on a date or even with a woman. Sam thinks Jenny
would be perfect for Daniel and offers her twenty thousand dollars
for two weeks of work. Jenny is shocked, thinking Sam wants her
be Daniel's in-house lover, but all Sam wants is for Jenny to
help Daniel and make him see that he is beautiful both inside
and out.
Daniel originally wanted a high school student to
come work for him, but when Jenny says the temp agency he hired
made a mistake, he is all ready to tell Jenny to leave. He is
not sure he can work around such a beautiful woman. It is bad
enough she may see his scars, and he has no experience with women
in general. What if she thinks he is a freak, especially since
he is a virgin? Jenny doesn't think Daniel is a freak and wants
to break him out of his shell. She enjoys working with him, and
soon he begins to trust her, even allowing her to work with him
in his studio and decorate his house for Christmas. Jenny is soon
falling in love with Daniel, and he can't help but want to kiss
her and do other intimate things. If only Jenny didn't have to
keep watching her back because Leo is waiting for what is due
him and will not stop until he has Jenny, even if he has to kill
Daniel to get what he wants.
In the mood for a little romance for the holidays?
If so, Anne Hope has penned a sweet romance between two fragile
people who find love and acceptance with one another. Jenny is
the angel who comes into Daniel's life to show him that there
is much more to a person than looks. Even though Jenny is not
sure of herself, she is filled with much kindness, and Ms. Hope
makes sure to show that throughout the story. Daniel is written
in such a way that you will want to enclose him in your arms.
The poor man does not realize his self worth because of the scar
on his face and the way he has closed himself off from everyone,
even those who love him, including his grandfather. When he begins
to fall for Jenny, it is very sweet. These two do not fall into
bed right away, but court each other slowly and tenderly.
Daniel's grandfather, Sam, is a loving man concerned
for his grandson's welfare, which is the total opposite of the
sleazy Leo who doesn't care whom he hurts, as long as he gets
his way. Even though Jenny's friend Marcy is only in a few scenes,
she is very supportive of Jenny and hopes Jenny will find safety
and a place where she doesn't have to worry about where her next
paycheck will come from.
WHERE DREAMS ARE MADE is a great love story with
a bit of suspense thrown in. Anne Hope has written a lovely story
where trust and acceptance help break free the walls two people
have placed around their hearts.
