Contemporary Romance

Leeds, England - Present Day

It has been a week, and Addie Winter still hasn’t managed to find her Noah. Six months ago, in a moment of weakness, Addie invented a boyfriend to get her overbearing mother to leave her alone. Now though, her family is beginning to wonder why they’ve never met Noah. Her mother suspects that he’s married, and her brothers are sure that Addie is making him up. During her last-ditch-effort to find a Noah at a gym, a handsome guy helps her as she muddles through the equipment and trips over her own feet. Unfortunately, he’s blond, and Noah is supposed to be tall, dark, and handsome. Then, she meets the perfect man. Though Will Mansell is a bit taken aback by her proposition, he agrees, and Addie manages to convince one of her brothers that she has a boyfriend. Of course, he has to “break up” with her, otherwise she’ll have to introduce Noah to her mother.

A kiss that leaves her panting has Addie running out on Will, torn about the fact that she’ll never see him again. But when she shows up for work on Monday, it’s to the news that the company has been sold, and the men helping with the transition are Will Mansell and his brother, Ed...the blond from the gym. It’s bad enough having to face Will again, but the other man she embarrassed herself in front of as well? Worse, when Addie is nervous, she gets klutzy, and before long she’s fallen out of a closet into Will, broken a chair, and doused his computer keyboard with coffee. Will may just be the perfect man, but every time she tries to put her best foot forward, she manages to step into something.

While not exactly your typical romance, DOING THE RIGHT THING is captivating none-the-less. No matter what Addie does----and even when she doesn’t do anything----her mother disapproves and makes her life miserable. The constant put-downs and her strict upbringing have left Addie feeling unlovable, and her height and plain-Jane looks have kept her from dating much. She also seems to be messing things up every way she turns when it comes to Will. Her missteps are often both amusing and emotional, giving readers something humorous and occasionally painful to watch.

A thoroughly enjoyable book, be sure to pick up DOING THE RIGHT THING.
