Serenity Springs, New York – Present Day

P. I. Dean Garret goes to The Summit Bar looking for a job as a bartender. He figures two weeks should complete his job of finding a runaway mother and child. He is shocked when Allison Martin does not hire him immediately with his experience, good looks and his attractive Texan drawl, but with a little manipulation, he lands the job. Now all he has to do is become Allison’s best friend and find out what she knows about the runaways. Allison was an attorney before she bought the bar and has a soft spot for people who are in dire need. Too bad it gets her in trouble! She refuses to reveal why she left her job as a lawyer and returned to Serenity Springs.

Dean meets Allison’s family and enjoys their close relationship. He fights his guilt for being there under false pretenses, but still does some unethical things to help his case. Allison doesn’t trust him and knows she must keep her secrets to herself, even though there is a strong attraction between them. Dean tries to protect her, but at the same time, he tries to get closer to her to find out what she knows about the missing mother and child.

HIS SECRET AGENDA is an entertaining story involving two very likeable people --- Allison, who is always trying to help the underdog, and Dean, who is determined to find the two missing persons. Allison finds that hiring people who need help doesn’t always work out even though she has the best of intentions. Dean and her family are supportive as Allison works hard to make it on her own. The attraction between Dean and Allison grows, secrets are revealed, and lives changed.

Realistic dialogue and an enjoyable, emotionally satisfying story, make HIS SECRET AGENDA an intriguing read.
